For the most part, save for a few days, we have had such beautiful weather full of sunny skies and pleasant temperatures that have inspired us all to get outdoors. Even though I suffer from a pollen allergy like many, I have thoroughly enjoyed watching the flowers bloom and nature evolve with new life and I know you have as well.

Perquimans SheriffDazha Cunningham, of the 100 block of Howell St., Hertford, was arrested March 4 and charged with trafficking in methamphetamine and maintaining a vehicle/place for the possession of a controlled substance. A $103,000 secured bond was set. Cunningham also was charged with conspiring to traffic methamphetamine and possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver marijuana. A $50,000 secured bond was set for those charges.

An online petition to name an Elizabeth City State University facility in honor of Isaiah Caldwell, who was shot and killed in last month's on-campus shooting, has received nearly 2,700 signatures. "To honor his memory, we are proposing that the new café on campus be named after Isaiah Caldwell," a post at the petition site change.org states.
