SAGINAW, Mich. (WNEM) - It’s been a steamy several days around Mid-Michigan, but relief is on its way very soon. A cold front dropping through the area tonight will set the stage for cooler temperatures on Wednesday and a decent drop in the humidity. But first, we do have to get through some storms this evening before we get there. These storms have been strong at times this afternoon, so we’ll be watching them closely as they roll through.

SAGINAW, Mich. (WNEM) - Heat index values have been running high since Saturday and although it’s a slight change, we’ll at least turn down the heat slightly soon. Heat index values on Tuesday aren’t expected to get quite as high tomorrow and we’ll cool down even further as we head into Wednesday and Thursday. It still won’t be a “pleasant” atmosphere, some of the edge will be taken off of the last few days.

SAGINAW, Mich. (WNEM) - Outside of some occasional showers and storms, Friday has been fairly quiet. But as we head into the weekend, there is plenty to talk about! It starts with a tricky forecast for showers and thunderstorms late tonight and the first half of Saturday, followed by our building heat into the weekend and early next week. And much of next week will continue to be unsettled.

SAGINAW, Mich. (WNEM) - Rain has continued around Mid-Michigan for much of the day, though things have slowed down for many this afternoon and early evening. Despite that being the case for most, there are still some scattered showers here and there to start the evening and that will likely be the case into Friday. We’re also preparing for the heat that builds in this weekend and sticks around for early next week.

SAGINAW, Mich. (WNEM) - We’ve had several showers and thunderstorms move through the area today, and we’ll continue to watch how things develop this evening. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in place for Genesee, Lapeer, and Shiawassee counties until 10 PM tonight. We’ll see if more counties are added later, but for now, these are the only three.
