BOSTON -- The Boston Celtics will look to pick up where they left off with another convincing win over the Orlando Magic on Wednesday at TD Garden. They may have to play Game 2 of the first-round series without their superstar. Jayson Tatum is officially listed as doubtful to play due to the wrist injury he suffered in the fourth quarter of Game 1. That means Boston will again have to lean on its supporting cast in Wednesday's matchup.

BOSTON -- The Boston Celtics and Orlando Magic are set to begin their first-round playoff series Easter Sunday at TD Garden. Boston, the reigning NBA champion, enters Game 1 as the overwhelming favorite against an Orlando team that hasn't advanced past the first round since 2010. That was the last time these two franchises met in the postseason, with the C's winning in six games before falling to the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA Finals.

The Celtics haven't been shy about their quest to repeat and have openly discussed what it would mean to become the first Boston squad to win back-to-back titles since 1969. But they also know they can't skip any steps, and that any quest for Banner 19 must start with full attention on their first-round opponent: the Orlando Magic. The Magic finished the 2024-25 season at an even .500 (41-41) and drew the Celtics by ousting the Atlanta Hawks in the No. 7 vs. No. 8 play-in matchup Tuesday night.

We'd like to think our crystal ball has magical powers, but the truth is that the Boston Celtics have simply been so darn good over the past two seasons that it's pretty easy to make bold predictions about the successes they've enjoyed. You didn't need to be any sort of seer to know Payton Pritchard was poised for a breakout season. Or that the Celtics would stack up a whole bunch of 3-pointers during the 2024-25 campaign. Still, it's comforting that our crystal ball rarely lead us astray.
