The metro Atlanta-based owner of Colonial Pipeline is set to be sold. Alpharetta-based Colonial Enterprises, owner of Colonial Pipeline and the largest fuel transporter in the U.S., is set to be sold. Toronto-based Brookfield Infrastructure Partners on April 3 announced an agreement to buy 100% of Colonial's midstream asset portfolio for approximately $9 billion in debt and equity. The deal includes a subsidiary of Shell PLC selling its 16% stake in Colonial to Brookfield for $1.45 billion.

The average restaurant wage in metro Atlanta, including base salary and tip, increased 39% from January 2020 through September 2024, according to an analysis of ADP payroll data from more than 50 metro areas by The Business Journals, parent publication of Atlanta Business Chronicle.

Home Depot has made two executive appointments, including a move to boost sales with professional contractors. Atlanta-based The Home Depot Inc. named Michael Rowe executive vice president of its "pro" business, effective immediately. The home improvement retailer also named Stephanie Smith as its next executive vice president of human resources, according to a March 5 announcement.
