YUMA — The Holtville Stingrays swim team emerged victorious from last week’s Imperial Valley Swim League championship swim meet at the Valley Aquatic Center here. The Stingrays, sparked by four age-group winners, finished the meet with 2,230.5 points. They were followed by Arizona’s AquaForce (1,627), the El Centro Waverunners (1,334), Brawley Sunstrokers (1,240.5), Yuma Krakens (780.5), Imperial Sea Lions (631.5) and Blythe Desert Dolphins (177).

The Imperial Valley League recently announced all-league selections, with Holtville High’s Lillian Strahm earning female athlete of the year honors for track and Calexico High’s Yoshua Espinoza being named player of the year for boys volleyball. “It was an honor and a good wrap up to my track career,” Strahm said. “I love all the coaches in the Valley, they are all so supportive.
