WOODRUFF — Banners were hung throughout downtown, welcoming a company that plans to invest $40 million and create 215 jobs at a new production site in southern Spartanburg County. Less than 2 miles from the BMW Group's high-voltage battery assembly facility on state Highway 101, global cooling solution provider AIRSYS Cooling Technologies broke ground May 8 on what will be its new 264,000-square-foot global headquarters campus at 6228 Highway 101. AIRSYS is currently headquartered in Greer.

DUNCAN — A company specializing in plant-based detoxification and seed research will soon begin operations in Spartanburg County, creating 34 jobs and investing $4.2 million. Xoted Biotechnology Labs, a subsidiary of DRC Ventures, will establish its new research and development center at The Spark Center at Spartanburg Community College's Tyger River Campus at 1875 E. Main St., Duncan.

DUNCAN — A $19 million early childhood education facility will soon take shape, providing additional resources in a rapidly growing section of Spartanburg County. On schedule to open in August 2026, the 44,500-square-foot Middle Tyger Education Center at 101 S. Danzler Road will sit across from Duncan Elementary School.

SPARTANBURG — The 25th annual BMW Charity Pro-Am golf tournament week begins June 2 with new celebrities and amateur players joining professional golfers on the Korn Ferry Tour for action at golf courses in Spartanburg and Greenville. Leading up to the tournament, which is June 5-8, there are planned events, including A Night in the Burg with Cole Swindell, which starts at 5 p.m. June 5 at Fifth Third Park. The tournament returned to Spartanburg in 2022, where it had been from 2008-12.
