Dune: Awakening's 1.1.0.15 patch makes a couple of notable changes to PvP, including a fix for the notorious goomba stomp meta where players were squishing each other with ornithopters. How did that work? Well, since players realized that 'thopters take no damage from collisions with the environment, there was zero risk in repeatedly slamming the flying vehicle into players running around on the ground in PvP zones.

Dune: Awakening is off to a great start: excellent Steam reviews, a growing playerbase, and few of the launch problems that regularly plague popular new multiplayer games. There is some trouble brewing, however, as players begin exploring Dune: Awakening's endgame, much of which revolves around PvP in the deep desert—a massive, uninhabitable zone only traversable by air where players can compete for precious resources like spice and titanium.

Dune: Awakening has a comprehensive base-building policy that goes something like this:Build a base wherever you want. That's pretty much the entire policy. There are restrictions, of course: build too far out on the sand and a sandworm will show up and eat a hunk of your base—with you in it, if you're not careful. And you can't build within a certain radius of an established location like a tradepost or faction stronghold. But that's about it. Otherwise, you can build wherever you like.

The Eighth Trial of Aql isn't like the seven other Dune: Awakening story quests that came before it. You can't even get inside the trial without passing a test on Dune lore, and once you're in the trial you'll have to beat several more puzzles to complete it. You need to complete these trials in order, so before using this guide, make sure you've already found Dune: Awakening locations for all eight Trials of Aql. These trials provide important survival gear you'll need for the rest of the game.
