Photo by Matthew Grimes Jr./Atlanta Braves/Getty Images The Mets played a lifeless game as they were swept by the Braves last night in Atlanta, extending their losing streak to six games. Combined with the Phillies’ win over the Marlins, that leaves them in a tie for first place in the National League East and marks the second time this season they’ve let a five-game lead in the division evaporate.

Photo by Matthew Grimes Jr./Atlanta Braves/Getty Images The Mets should probably consider forfeiting the remainder of their games in Atlanta. For the third time in as many nights, the team lost to the Braves, and they extended their losing streak to six games in the process. The final score was 7-1 in Atlanta’s favor. Clay Holmes threw 104 pitches and lasted just four-and-two-thirds innings. He somehow managed to give up just three runs despite issuing six walks and giving up four hits.

I don't tweet anymore, but before Game 3, I said this to @BrianNeedsaNap: "Did Pete Alonso personally piss on everyone’s favorite rugs while I was in the UK? My goodness the negativity around him is a lot right now." #LFGM
