Huascar Brazobán took the role of opener today, and looked excellent in his first inning of work. After walking the leadoff batter in the second, Brazobán was pulled in favor of Justin Hagenman, making his big league debut.

New York has not yet announced a replacement starter. Justin Hagenman is the likeliest option to replace Canning, as he is both on the 40-man roster and would be on regular rest. The right-handed has posted a 6.97 ERA in 10 1⁄3 innings for Triple-A Syracuse this season.
