GRANITE CITY – Ms. Hutchings’ Computer Concepts and Advanced Computer Concepts classes at Granite City High School had 24 students earn certifications in Microsoft Word, Excel, and/or PowerPoint. Of these, 14 students achieved certification in all three applications, earning the title of Microsoft Office Associate Specialists. Certification scores were submitted to Microsoft as part of a contest, with winners to be announced at a later date.

A blue plaque will be unveiled this Friday (6 June) at North London Collegiate School in Stanmore to honour Dr. Beryl Gilroy – London’s first Black head teacher and a groundbreaking figure in British education and literature. The plaque, installed by the Nubian Jak Community Trust, will mark the 115th in their blue plaque series. The event is part of an ongoing programme by Black History Walks to highlight the contributions of Black Britons to UK society.

A car crashed into a garage next to a house in West Harrow on Sunday afternoon, prompting an emergency response from the London Fire Brigade. The incident happened on Blenheim Road at around 4:30pm. Firefighters from Wembley and Harrow fire stations attended the scene and made the area safe. A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade told Harrow Online: “Fire crews from Wembley and Harrow fire stations were called to a road traffic collision on Blenheim Road in Harrow yesterday at 1630.
