Londonderry Lancers softball fans had a feeling their team would have a good shot to repeat as State Champions this year and on Saturday night, June 14, those feelings became a reality, winning their 33rd consecutive game for the second straight Division I title. The #1 seeded Lady Lancers faced Pinkerton Academy in the state finals over the weekend at Plymouth State University, beating that team 4-1 behind the battle-tested arm of junior Elizabeth Kearny and six hits from the Lancers offense.

Nearly 300 member of the senior class of 2025 marched across the stage at the Southern New Hampshire University Arena during the forty-sixth annual Graduation Exercise on Thursday night, June 12. The seats available at the event were nearly full with friends and family to view the young adults final involvement as students at Londonderry High School. Marshals Rebecca Peabody and Amy Sanborn led the 290 graduates to their seats.

Former North School student Caleb Haseltine attended the Senior Breakfast this week and was shown a picture of his fourth grade class by Niccole Martinez. The Londonderry High School Boys’ Volleyball team finished the regular season with 9-7 record, getting the squad into the NHIAA Division I Championship as the number six seed and hosting the first round game against the Timberlane Regional High School Owls. The Owls came into the first round game as the #11 seed after finishing their season at 7-9. The Lancers easily dispatched of the Timberlane squad, on Tuesday, June 3, winning in straight sets by at least nine-points.

The Londonderry High School Softball team hasn’t had many one-run games this season, let alone one-run wins, but facing the Portsmouth Clippers on Sunday in the quarterfinals of the Division I State Championship, the Lancers got the one run they needed in the sixth inning to move onto the semi-finals. The game had plenty of drama leading up to that run, with the Clippers making a late-game surge in the top of the sixth, loading up the bases and threatening to score with two outs.

Teams from Londonderry’s three elementary school recently took to the track behind Londonderry High School for an annual introduction to some Track and Field events. The young athletes were grouped into age categories and participated in a number of events guided by staff and members of the Lancers Track and Field teams. Events included the 100-meter dash, a softball throw, a javelin throw, long-jumps and distance running.

Former students from North Elementary School were treated to a pancake breakfast cooked by the principals on Tuesday has they get ready to graduate on Thursday night in Manchester. Staff welcomed the seniors during the annual tradition and shared stories with plenty of photos on-hand to reminisce with. Students were given name tags with the fifth grade pictures to help identify them. Each of the elementary schools participate in the yearly event.

The Londonderry High School Boys’ and Girls’ Track and Field Teams headed to Portsmouth High School on Friday night, May 30, where they competed in the Division I Championship. For the boys’, junior Carlson Fitzgerald waited until the final stretch of the 1,600-Meter Run to edge out runners from Bishop Guertin and Pinkerton Academy for a first place win in that race.

It’s been well over a year since the last time the Londonderry High School Softball has suffered a defeat. The Lancers have gone 30-0 since May 3, 2024, and are now heading into the 2025 Division I Championship as the number one seed and hoping to defend their title. The Lancers finished the regular season last week by tacking on two more wins, to finish at 19-0 and going into the post-season with a strong head of steam.
