(Kiowa County Press) The National Weather Service’s Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma, has issued a tornado watch for eight Colorado counties, as well as portions of Kansas and Nebraska, expected to continue to 8:00 p.m. MDT. Colorado counties covered by the watch include Kit Carson, Logan, Morgan, Phillips, Sedgwick, Washington, Weld, and Yuma, all in the northeast portion of the state.

(Kiowa County Press) According to the latest data from the United States Drought Monitor, Colorado's drought conditions remain a concern, with minimal improvement over the past week. Compared to last week, the changes in drought conditions are relatively small. Approximately 62 percent of the state is experiencing some level of drought, a slight decrease from 65 percent last week. Twenty-seven percent is classified as severe or worse, down from 30 percent.

Invenergy has opened its fourth Colorado office with the launch of an Eads location Wednesday to support its Towner East and Towner West wind energy projects.
