A Graveside Memorial Service for Donald Phillips will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 14, 2025 at the Holly Cemetery in Holly, Colorado with Pastor Steve Knobbe officiating. Donald W. Phillips passed away on January 4, 2025 in Houston, Texas at the age of 89. Don was born in Holly, Colorado to Vernon Phillips and Clara May Elam Phillips on March 8, 1935. Don grew up and spent his school years in Holly. Don served in the Army, and was stationed overseas in Germany.

Barbara Crimond | May 13, 2025 | Comments 0 Janice Marlene (McCorkle) Lange, 73, of Dublin, Texas, passed away on Saturday April 19, 2025. She was born Feb. 23, 1952 in Lamar, Colo. to Albert and Alma Lou McCorkle. She married Timothy Lange on Nov. 15, 1985. They lived in Dublin TX for 35 years. Janice was an avid Denver Broncos fan. She loved to read. She worked at the Coop in her early years in Dublin before spending time in home health care.

All board members except Jill Bellomy were present for the May 13 meeting. Minutes from the April 29, 2015 meeting were approved, as were Purchase Orders 630835 through 630877.   The total amount of purchase orders was $602,259.67. Purchase of electricity (estimated) from ARPA was as usual the largest of these, amounting to $560,076.35. Annual dues to American Public Power Association accounted for $8,048.19 and decommissioning of a gas field was $7,629.00.

In the morning work session on May 13, 2025, the Prowers County Commissioners heard updates about High Plains Community Health Center from Interim CEO Dr. Claire Reed. She told commissioners that they are fully staffed with providers, but that recent grants will allow them to expand their mental health programs. They are renovating the lobby area, and will have partitions installed for more private check-in experiences. They have one full time dentist and also a new dental hygienist.
