This 30-minute film shines a light on the environmental disasters going on in Indonesia but also taps into what it means to live with purpose, focussing on former world champ Tom Carroll, the brilliant Pacha Light and a dig behind the smile of Koa Smith. Imagine you’ve never been to Newquay. Now, open Google Maps and have a look at the outline of the Bay. Doesn’t it strike you as a perfect surf zone? Optimally angled out of the prevailing wind, but not so much that Atlantic swell misses it completely. Its favourable geography includes a long headland, a sweeping crescent of sand and over a dozen rocky outcrops. Surely, you’d assume, that would lead to all sorts of excellent banks.
