The ancient Polynesians first rode long, heavy wooden planks in the 12th Century, well before surfing erupted into the mainstream. And there’s still a thriving community of longboarders today, particularly across UK, Europe and Northern Africa. In fact, data seen by yours truly suggests there are more people surfing longboards and mid-lengths than there are shortboards.

Introducing ‘Surfers’ Dharma,’ a movie created by Wavelength’s pal, Uriel Jean Armel. This 30-minute film shines a light on the environmental disasters going on in Indonesia but also taps into what it means to live with purpose, focussing on former world champ Tom Carroll, the brilliant Pacha Light and a dig behind the smile of Koa Smith. It’s some great viewing for this Easter Sunday, and we’ll have more films dropping over the coming weeks and months. Stay tuned!
