Greensboro, North Carolina-based Unifi Inc., maker of recycled and synthetic yarns such as its Repreve product, has announced the launch of Repreve with Ciclo technology—recycled polyester and nylon embedded with a biodegradable technology that enables synthetics to break down naturally. Unifi says Repreve with Ciclo technology was created in collaboration with Intrinsic Advanced Materials LLC, a joint venture between Parkdale Advanced Materials Inc.

The California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) issued an update on the state’s expanded polystyrene (EPS) food service ware ban April 4, saying the ban will be enforced going forward. The EPS ban is a component of the state’s Plastic Pollution Prevention and Packaging Producer Responsibility Act (Senate Bill 54) that was passed in 2022.

American Battery Technology Co. (ABTC), Reno, Nevada, recently announced the sale of one of its unused legacy properties located at 395 Logan Lane in Fernley, Nevada. The company, which specializes in the manufacturing and recycling of lithium-ion batteries (LIBs), says the 12-acre property entered into contract to sell for $6.75 million and expects the transaction to close on or before July 10.
