Florida coach Todd Golden's historic season came to a close at the height of college basketball. Golden, who just won his first NCAA Tournament game this year, now has an NCAA championship to his name. Florida took down Houston, 65-63, with a furious rally in the final minutes of the game at the Alamodome on Monday night for the 2025 national championship. Florida only led Houston for one minute and 12 seconds of game time, while Houston was on top for a little more than 30 minutes.

Spurs star Victor Wembanyama was in attendance for the men's college basketball national championship game on Monday night. Wembanyama's second season in San Antonio ended prematurely after he was diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder in February. The club said the ailment was discovered when Wembanyama returned to San Antonio following the All-Star Game in San Francisco.

Johnson's Elvis Estrada hit the game-winning home run in a 4-3 win over Madison in ten innings. O'Connor's Ryan Mason pitched a complete game no hitter in a 10-0 win over Marshall. Davenport's Nick Jovich hit .500 this week and did not allow a stolen base in the Wolves' sweep of Fredericksburg.

Houston will be playing for a national title in San Antonio less than 200 miles away from its main campus, while Florida fans will have to travel around 1,000 miles from Gainesville to the Alamodome. Florida coach Todd Golden acknowledged the likelihood of Monday night's national championship game being played in front of a majority Houston crowd, but added that the Gators were in a similar situation during the SEC title game.
