Montecito Fire Department is pleased to present our new website, montecitofire.com. We have revamped our website to better serve our community. This includes a new Wildfire Preparedness StoryMap, a dynamic webpage with informational videos, interactive maps and helpful resources. We developed this StoryMap as an alternative to our Wildfire Preparedness Community meetings.

Community Pulls into the Station The community pushed together to usher in the Engine 92 On Monday, May 6, Montecito Fire Department placed the new Engine 92 into service with the support of more than a hundred community members, including children from Cold Spring School and Montecito Union School.

Before we close out the first quarter of 2024, Montecito Fire Protection District is pleased to share our 2023 Annual Report to reflect on our successes, challenges, and opportunities to further provide the Montecito community with exceptional service. “This report serves as a comprehensive overview of our department’s achievements and ongoing commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of our community,” Montecito Fire Chief David Neels said.

AbstractThe COVID-19 pandemic is having a lasting impact on health and well-being. We compare current self-reported health, quality of life and symptom profiles for people with ongoing symptoms following COVID-19 to those who have never tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 infection and those who have recovered from COVID-19. Overall, 276,840/800,000 (34·6%) of invited participants took part.

POSSIBLE PUBLIC SAFETY POWER SHUTOFF: Southern California Edison is considering a Public Safety Power Shutoff that would affect up to 1,900 customers in Santa Barbara County, including Montecito. WHERE: Eastern area of the City of Santa Barbara into Montecito, ending near Highway 192 and San Ysidro Road. Please see the map of the proposed outage area. WHEN: If SCE moves forward with the PSPS, power may be turned off starting at 3 p.m. Wednesday 10/11 through 3 a.m. Thursday 10/12.
