Case presentation A 9-year-old girl presented to the clinic for a 1-year history of a 1.1 × 1.0 cm subcutaneous mass on her right forearm. She reported a mosquito bite at the site with subsequent enlargement and pruritus but without signs of bleeding or drainage. Topical antibiotics and steroids were ineffective for symptom control. Clinical examination revealed a raised, mildly erythematous, ill-defined plaque on the right forearm (Figure 1).
