A New York man and his daughter are missing somewhere on Katahdin. Tim Keiderling, 58, and his daughter, 28-year-old Esther Keiderling, both of Ulster Park, New York, were last seen on Katahdin’s Tablelands heading toward the summit about 10:15 a.m. Sunday, according to Baxter State Park. The Keiderlings left Abol Campground that morning for the hike.

The fire that burned a Fairfield apartment building and killed a cat was likely arson. The fire broke out about 3:30 a.m. Sunday at the five-unit building on Summit Street, according to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety. Only two of the apartments were occupied, and all four tenants escaped safely, Moss said Monday afternoon. A cat was killed in the fire, the Kennebec Journal reported.

A woman has died in Lewiston. The 42-year-old woman was found dead in an Old Greene Road residence early Monday morning, according to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety. Her body was taken to the Maine medical examiner’s office in Augusta, where an autopsy will determine her cause and manner of death, Moss said Monday evening. The investigation is ongoing. Another Maine health system has been targeted by a possible hack. Technicians on Sunday identified “unusual activity” within Central Maine Healthcare’s computer systems, a spokesperson said Monday. They immediately shut down the system, including servers and phone systems. Man dies after Maine motorcycle crash

A Lisbon man died after a Friday afternoon motorcycle crash in Turner. William Brooks, 65, was riding a custom 2008 Harley-Davidson motorcycle on Route 4, also known as Auburn Road, about 3:49 p.m. when he went off the road, hit an embankment and was ejected, according to the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office. Brooks, who wasn’t wearing a helmet, was seriously injured in the crash. He was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, where he died from his injuries.
