1. IntroductionNew tools and strategies are needed to promote the health and wellbeing of young people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or other diverse sexual orientations and gender identities (LGBTQ+) in Australia. LGBTQ+ youth, particularly those experiencing harassment and violence related to their identities, have higher rates of suicidal ideation and suicide attempts than the general population (Hill et al., 2022).

The Information Commissioner’s Office (“ICO”) recently issued new guidance for employers on the monitoring of workers (see here). Data protection law does not prevent the monitoring of workers in the workplace, but it must be done in a way that is compliant with the law and fair.
