U.S. and global natural gas prices have moved northward since hostilities between Iran and Israel began last week. Iran is the world’s third-largest natural gas producer. It could also potentially close the Strait of Hormuz, a major transitway for LNG tankers. LNG trade most likely to be affected would be Asia’s, analysts have said. Gelber & Associates (G&A) analysts pointed out that more than one-quarter of China’s LNG now passes through the Strait of Hormuz.
