1. IntroductionAtrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common sustained cardiac arrhythmia [1], affecting 33 million people worldwide. AF incidence is expected to rise by over 60% by 2050 [2]. The mechanisms of AF are currently controversial, with significant differences among patients [3]. Paroxysmal AF terminates spontaneously, typically within a few hours to a few days. Rapid excitement from pulmonary vein usually initiates it.
