Opel has announced that it is creating a production series version of its unusual Mokka GSE e-rally car. The company has said it didn't want the driving experience limited to motorsports professionals. It’s based on the Opel Mokka GSE Rally, a rather bold-looking electric rally car which debuted at the ELE Rally in the Netherlands last month.

Kia has just unveiled the UK pricing for its 2026 EV9 GT and EV6 GT electric SUVs. Order books are also now open to UK customers. As we’ve covered previously, this reg year will see the EV6 GT benefit from a range of performance and design tweaks. It will feature the larger 84kWh battery pack, a range of up to 279 miles WLTP, AWD, plus increased horsepower and torque of 641hp and 770Nm respectively.

Spanning 1260 square meters, the new charging hub features 47 charging points. 15 of these are classed as ‘ultra-fast’; which here refers to seven 350kW chargers and eight 240kW. The Madrid authorities state that all of these can charge 80-per cent battery capacity in under 15 minutes or provide 200km of range in five minutes of connection. There’s a further ten 60kW fast chargers and 22 ‘semi-fast’ chargers with 22kW of power.

The new E-WAY buses are 9.5-meters long and 2.33-meters wide, and are designed for ‘maximum maneuverability’ on the narrow streets of Malaga. Like other E-WAY buses, they feature a modular NMC battery system which has been adapted to the passenger capacity and charging needs of the bus service. In terms of passengers, the Malaga buses will carry up to 55 passengers with 16 of those being seated, as well as accessible spaces for those with reduced mobility.

Ireland’s Minister for Transport, Darragh O’Brien, announced earlier this month that €7.9 million euros worth of funding will be provided in grants towards charging infrastructure. The new chargers will be operational by the end of 2025. O’Brien said: “We’re taking real, practical steps to make electric vehicles work for everyone. With more chargers, more choice, and more support, we hope even more people will feel confident making the switch to electric.
