    Gardaí in County Kildare are investigating after a mountain bike was stolen from a residence in Newbridge. A post on the Newbridge Co Kildare Residents Community Forum on Facebook by one Tracey Maher-Murray detailed the crime, which occurred yesterday afternoon (May 28 last), and also included an image of the stolen mountain bike.

    Two attempted burglaries which occurred in quick succession are being investigated by Kildare gardaí. The incidents were highlighted on a KFM radio programme on the morning of Wednesday, May 28 last and featured Garda Jonathan Bryan of Kilcullen Garda Station as a guest. He explained that the two crimes took place between 4.20am and 4.30am on May 24 last in The Orchard, Oldtown Mill region of Celbridge.

    Three different county councillors have called for the 'mixed-use redevelopment' of a machinery yard located in County Kildare. A joint motion was submitted by the councillors at the latest Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District (MD) meeting, which took place on Wednesday, May 21 last. The motion referred to Newbridge Machinery Yard, which last month made headlines when the Land Development Agency (LDA) announced its intention to develop the site solely for housing.

    Gardaí based in County Kildare are currently probing the burglary of a business located on the Main Street of Celbridge. Details of the crime were shared by Garda Jonathan Bryan of Kilcullen Garda Station when he appeared on KFM yesterday (May 28 last), although he did not disclose the name of the business. He explained that the incident took place in the early hours of May 24 last. Gda Bryan added that no cash was taken by the perpetrator(s).

    A Senator representing County Kildare has welcomed the reinstatement of midwifery-led clinics in Athy. Fianna Fáil Senator for Kildare South Fiona O’Loughlin said that she welcomes the recent commitment given by the Minister for Health, Jennifer Carroll MacNeill, that midwifery-led antenatal clinics at Athy Primary Care Centre will resume normal operations this week.
