    Skaledonia (Image: Facebook) A GREENOCK venue will be full of the sounds of ska and beyond when a seven-piece band rolls into town. The Celtic Supporters Club on Laird Street will welcome Skaledonia on Friday, August 1. The East Kilbride band play 2 Tone classics made famous by well-known 2 Tone bands. 2 Tone is a style of music that fuses Jamaican ska, rocksteady, and reggae with punk and new wave. Skaledonia will be supported on the night by local DJs Joe and Brim.

The team at Rope, Spoke, and Paddle (RSP) Off-Grid Adventure Centre are hosting a bushcraft event at their Thom Street base on Sunday, June 29. Bookings can be made via www.ropespokeandpaddle.com The session, which starts at 1pm, will focus on making shelters, building fires, and cooking outdoors.

    World Traveller (Image: George Munro) GREENOCK Ocean Terminal welcomed its latest vessel on Thursday morning. World Traveller sailed onto Inverclyde shores after a visit to Belfast. Built in 2022, the Atlas Ocean Voyages ship has six guest decks and can accommodate up to 198 guests. She has a gross tonnage of 10,000 and is 129metres in length. The vessel can cruise along at a speed of 18mph.

    Inverclyde Shed (Image: George Munro) THE team at Inverclyde Shed are holding a jumble sale to raise funds. The event will take place at Greenock Baptist Church on Saturday, June 21. Donations of clothes and bric-a-brac are still being sought for the sale which will run from 12-3pm. The activity will coincide with an open day which will run at the Shed just around the corner on East Blackhall Street.
