EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — Another scam is popping up on phones across the Tri-State with threats about an unpaid traffic ticket. It’s a scam seen all across the country. The text claims to be from the “Indiana Department of Vehicles,” the first of many red flags. "It was kind of ham-handed because they refer to the Indiana Department of Motor Vehicles, which Indiana has a Bureau of Motor Vehicles,” says Sheriff Noah Robinson.

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — No injuries were reported after a driver made it through barricades and ended up inside the Riverside Drive sinkhole. Crews arrived after 12:30 on Thursday afternoon after a white truck fell into the sinkhole on East Riverside Drive and Chestnut Street. The work has been heavily barricaded, and Riverside Drive remains closed in both directions near the work zone.

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (WEVV) — Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear joined Hopkins County leaders and other organizers to celebrate the launch of the West Kentucky Film Commission. Officials say Kentucky is already drawing the film industry to the state through its incentive, which, according to Co-Commissioner Kristi Kilday, allows Hollywood producers to come to Kentucky, make a movie, and make between 30 and 35 cents for every dollar they spend. Kilday says the commission has two primary purposes.

KENTUCKY (WEVV) — Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear recently announced that President Donald Trump approved his request for Individual Assistance for victims in 6 Kentucky counties. Those counties include Laurel, Pulaski, Caldwell, Russell, Trigg, and Union. Governor Beshear submitted the request on May 20th. It was the fastest application, he says, they’ve ever submitted.

GRIFFIN, Ind. (WEVV) — For farmers, this rainy spring season hasn’t been too kind. Farmers are taking advantage of a bit of dry stretch and trying to catch up. For Vanderburgh County farmer and President of Indiana Farm Bureau Randy Kron, different farms in different areas have been seeing different challenges. His farm in the Wabash River Bottoms is just now drying up. “For 42 crops, we’ve had some tough ones and we’ve had some good ones, but this one’s been a challenging one for us,” Kron says.
