    A family managed to escape a fire at their home in Nuneaton. It has broken out in the kitchen of a house in Barton Road last night (June 24). Nuneaton Fire Station confirmed to CoventryLive that white watch was scrambled from the station at around 8.30pm. Fortunately, when the crews arrived they found that the family had managed to escape. No one was left injured. However, the crews spent almost two hours putting out the fire in the kitchen and dampening down.

    Police have issued an update on the arrest of a Nuneaton man on suspicion of offences under the Sexual Offences Act. The 52-year-old man, who has not been identified, was taken into custody after officers were called to Martial Road. They responded to a report that the man had been confronted by a large group of people in the street on Sunday night (June 22). He was taken into custody and questioned. A Warwickshire Police spokesperson confirmed that the man has been released on bail.

    Police have issued a stark 'the gloves are off' warning to young bike gang in Nuneaton. The 'large group' were clocked near Bermuda train station yesterday (June 22). They then made off along Griff Hollows, across turnover bridge and into the woodland behind the Griff Quarry. Nuneaton Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) sent a direct message to them.

    Anger has erupted over bus fare rises across Nuneaton and Bedworth. Stagecoach confirmed there would be increases from Sunday, June 29. On its website, the bus firm said it has been 'absorbing' the increase in costs over the past year. But it said policy changes that had impacted employment costs and continued inflationary pressures had led to the increase. While single fares will be either £2.75 or £3, the bus company said there would be increases across day, week and four-weekly travel.

    Police have released an image of a man they say could hold information following an assault at a park in Nuneaton. They have asked the public for help to find Steven Smith. They say that they need to speak to the 44-year-old as he may have information about an assault that took place in Stockingford Park, known as Stockingford 'Rec, earlier this year. No further details have been provided about the incident, nor when it took place.
