The projects chosen include two aimed at making music, one teaching confidence through the medium of radio and a fourth supplying a community minibus for a whole host of groups.

A road on a popular through-route in Ryde is set to be improved this month (September) and motorists are being advised of diversions that will be in place. Argyll Street will be closed to through traffic between Argyll Place and West Street for a period of ten days from 9th September 2024 for highway reconstruction work by Island Roads.

Maintenance works to the Ryde Pier entrance will affect access to evening ferry services over four nights in September. The works will take place between 7pm and 5am from Monday 2nd to Wednesday 4th September and between 8pm and 5am on Thursday 5th September. Scheduled to avoid main holiday seasonIsland Roads has scheduled the work to avoid both the main holiday season and also the Network Rail maintenance work which will see train services suspended from Friday 6th September until May 2025.

After careful consideration, works that were due to start at Lake Hill and Broadway, Sandown next week have been postponed due to the current weather being experienced as well as the predicted weather forecast. The decision has been taken in order to prevent delays to work on site which would have potentially had a corresponding impact on local residents should the work period need to be extended.
