    Deliveroo has posted strong performance in Q1 2025, with gross transaction value (GTV) up 9% year-on-year in UK and Ireland, building on the same increase rate in Q4 2024. The food delivery platform’s UK and Ireland order growth accelerated to 7% (5% in Q4 2024) with both GTV and orders growing ahead of the market. Internationally, GTV growth was also 9% year-on-year in constant currency (10% in Q4 2024).

    Apetito has revealed it is on track to meet its 2025 Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)-validated carbon reduction targets. The healthcare sector meal provider is aiming to reach carbon net zero by 2040. Against its 2020 baseline, Apetito has achieved a 4.6% absolute reduction in carbon emissions with decreases seen across Scope 1, 2 and 3. From an intensity perspective, which accounts for increases in business volume, this equates to an overall 9% reduction across Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions.

    Loughborough College has been crowned the winner of Asian cooking competition Zest Quest Asia 2025. It is Cyrus and Pervin Todiwala’s 12th annual Zest Quest Asia competition, held to raise the profile of Asian cuisine and cookery as a future career for budding chefs. The competition on 4 April concluded with a gala dinner and awards ceremony at the Hilton London Wembley hotel. Eight shortlisted catering college teams completed a live cook-off at the University of West London.
