The regulation, requires mammography facilities and physicians to notify patients of dense breast tissue which can put women at higher risk of breast cancer. AbstractUninsured rates and access to screening mammography affect minorities disproportionally, resulting in higher breast cancer mortality, but awareness of disparities in coverage may help radiologists improve screening access and decrease compliance gaps affecting this patient population. After implementation of the Affordable Care Act in 2010, the uninsured population of the United States decreased significantly.

AbstractRadiologists in the emergency department have an important role in identifying and diagnosing common breast-related emergencies and recognizing conditions that require immediate management and those that require urgent evaluation by the breast imaging department staff to exclude malignancy and provide follow-up. Emergencies in breast imaging are infrequent but not rare.
