    There was a brief interaction with Arkansas hitting coach Nate Thompson after an early February scrimmage. The idea: find a few questions for an interview with pitching coach Matt Hobbs. If you want to know about the pitchers, talk to the hitting coach. Thompson might help. It worked, but we eventually turned to the hitters. I asked if there was a little more pop in the 2025 hitters? Thompson turned to point at Hunter Bell, in his third season as the baseball strength and conditioning coach.

    If you are a recruitnik, there probably is excitement with the transfer portal and the possibility over the last several years that the Arkansas football team might add a Drew Sanders from Alabama or Xavian Sorey from Georgia. Sanders and Sorey were impact players for the Razorbacks. They were elite recruits when they signed with the Tide and Bulldogs, the bluest of blue chips. They left those schools because they were stacked behind other great players at their positions.
