MONROE, La. (KNOE) - College baseball conference tournaments begin this week. Both Louisiana Tech and Grambling going in as the 5 seed for Conference USA and SWAC respectively. The Bulldogs finished 31-23 with a 14-12 mark in CUSA, that leaves him playing 4 seeded Jacksonville State on Wednesday at 6:30 pm. MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Sterlington baseball won its 4th state championship in school history on Saturday May 17. For the seniors, it was a great way to go out. With a game three 5-3 win against Erath, another trophy is coming back to Sterlington and rings will be placed on empty hands. The Panthers hadn’t won a title since 2021, and this senior class was close to becoming the first class to not capture a ring on the diamond since the seniors of 2016. Copyright 2025 KNOE. MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Mangham is headed back to Sulphur. The Dragons beat Oakdale 12-1 in the quarterfinal to move onto the semifinals. The Dragons blow out Oakdale behind an 8-run first inning. Eventually take care of business with a 12-2 run rule in 5 innings. Now in the semifinal its a rematch of last years state championship game against Northeast Louisiana rival, #1 seed Oak Grove. MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Spring football is underway in the high school ranks. West Monroe and Wossman taking the field, both with first time head coaches at the helm. DeMichael Dizer is now the head coach for the Rebels after replacing Kevin Davis. MONROE, La. (KNOE) - For the first time since 2018 the West Ouachita Chiefs are into the state semifinals. With a doubleheader sweep of Iowa on Mitch Thomas and the chiefs are still in with a shot at a state championship. West Ouachita won game 1 4-0 behind a one-out away no hitter from Cam Martin.
