DAYTONA BEACH — With potentially massive budget cuts looming for federal programs that help first-time homebuyers as well as struggling homeowners seeking to avoid foreclosure, the annual Daytona Beach Housing Fair & Financial Wellness Clinic is needed more than ever, its organizers say. This year's event, which is free and open to the general public, will take place on Saturday, April 26, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Allen Chapel AME Church at 580 George W. Engram Blvd. in Daytona Beach.

DAYTONA BEACH — Courtney Edgcomb, president of United Way of Volusia-Flagler Counties, was named the Volusia-Flagler area's "Young Professional of the Year" Wednesday night at the annual "40 Under Forty" awards gala. "I have benefited from so many leaders in our community who came before me that used their voice and their influence to make my voice louder," she told the gathering of more than 200 people at the Mori Hosseini College of Hospitality & Culinary Management at Daytona State College.

DAYTONA BEACH — It's official: Tracy Williams has been named the new chief executive officer of Florida Health Care Plans, the nation's second-oldest health maintenance organization. Williams had been serving as interim CEO since December, when the Daytona Beach-based HMO's previous chief executive, Steven Blumberg, took an "unexpected medical leave" after just three months in the position.
