A couple of the bigger punters have found horses a fair way from the top of betting markets for Saturday. A runner at Flemington and one across the other side of the country at Pinjarra have been the subject of two big bets this week. A bet of $2000 at $34 was reported on Sammarco ahead of the Ciaron Maher gelding contesting the Eric Musgrove Benchmark 100 Handicap (2000m) at Flemington.

The fields for the Kingsford Smith Cup and Queensland Derby were declared eight days ago before being rescheduled after last Saturday's washout while the Queensland Oaks field was released 24 hours ago. Saturday will showcase a 10-race card with the main support race being the Group 2 Moreton Cup (1200m) where some of the 13 runners will chase Stradbroke Handicap ballot exemption.
