Following a repeated election for student senator-at-large, Zarifa Nawar, Kareem Hassib, Ananya Gupta, Solomon Yi-Kieran and Drédyn Fontana won the five seats for the upcoming year. A total of 1,953 ballots were cast, equivalent to a voter turnout rate of 3.3 per cent. This marks a downturn from 17.6 per cent turnout of the previous AMS General election held this March.

On November 26, polls closed for residents of six on-campus communities to elect the board of directors for the University Neighbourhood Association (UNA). The UNA serves residents of Chancellor Place, East Campus, Wesbrook Place and others by delivering “community-building measures to develop a healthy and vibrant community.” In practice, this includes implementing by-laws on noise and parking, maintaining green and recreation spaces and facilitating amenities.

A big season is about to be underway for Thunderbirds men’s basketball team, coming off an undefeated preseason with new faces, new groove and a common goal: a national championship on home court. “There's going to be some great basketball,” said head coach Kevin Hanson, entering his 25th season as head coach with a 0.770 winning record and 6 Canada West Coach of the Year awards to his name.
