Nearly three dozen National Day of Morning ceremonies will be held across B.C. today. This day of mourning is marked for workers who have lost their lives due to work-related injuries or illnesses. It is worth mentioning that in B.C., 181 people died from work-related incidents or occupational diseases last year, which is a 12 percent increase from 161 deaths in 2021. Among them, 5 workers were young.

A representative of Kennedy Ohene Agyapong in the Evalue Ajomoro Egwira Constituency of the Western Region is alleged to have bolted with money meant for the delegates’ transportation. Member of Parliament for Sekondi Constituency Andrew Egyapa Mercer has indicated that delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will on Saturday, November 4 overwhelmingly endorse the Vice President, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia. Speaking in an interview with Wofa Ato, the sit-in-host of Connect FM’s Omanbapa morning show, the Deputy Energy Minister indicated that Dr. Bawumia will secure 90 percent of the votes whilst Kennedy Agyapong and the rest of the candidates will share the remaining 10 percent.

The Assembly member for Eshiem in the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolis of the Western Region, William Armstrong Arthur, has been arrested for his alleged involvement in the sale of illegal meters. Western Region Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) Benjamin Quarcoo told Connect FM’s Omanbapa morning show sit-in host Wofa Ato that the assembly member was arrested upon a tip-off.

The Takoradi Circuit Court B presided over by Her Honour, Henrietta Charway, has granted bail to Kingsley Ofosu, the sole survivor of the famous Deadly Voyage stowaway story in 1992. However, the suspect has not been able to fulfill the conditions. The plea of the accused person was suspended after the prosecutor, Inspector Robert Yawson, told the court that investigations could not be completed. The court subsequently granted the accused a bail of GH¢2,000,000 with two sureties.
