Stella and Irvin, the resident eagles at U.S. Steel Irvin Works, welcomed their first chick early this morning.There were three eggs in the nest. It is believed that the first egg, laid on February 13, was not viable, and that this hatchling came from the second egg, which was laid on February 19.If the third egg is to hatch, it will be in the coming days.Stella and Irvin are taking turns in the nest and will share the feeding duties. Dad was already spotted bringing a fish to the nest.
