MOUNTAIN VIEW, N.C. (WBTV) - As of Tuesday morning, only one victim remained hospitalized after Sunday morning’s mass shooting at a Catawba County house party, according to the FBI. The unidentified victim was one of 12 total injuries. Of the 12 people hurt, Shawn Hood, 58, of Lenoir, was pronounced dead, while the other 11 were either shot or injured amid the chaos. The extent of their injuries was not immediately known.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Carowinds debuted its newest roller coaster this week. Snoopy’s Racing Railway, a family launch coaster, officially opened on Monday, June 2. The ride takes parkgoers through “giggle-inducing” twists and turns, launching riders from zero to 31 mph within seconds. It goes through two laps per cycle and accommodates 14 riders.

The suspect, James Roland, 54, of Lenoir, was arrested and faces a handful of charges, which can be seen at the bottom of this article. He was given no bond, and his first appearance in court is Tuesday, June 3.

(WBTV/Gray News) – A parent is accused of attacking two administrators at a middle school in Charlotte, North Carolina while she was at the school regarding her daughter’s involvement in a fight. Records show Mariah Hector, 33, was arrested and released on bond. She was charged with assaulting a school employee and second-degree trespassing. The alleged assaults happened May 5 at Randolph Middle School in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School District.
