District 6’s board member Summer Nunn represents the area that includes Ardrey Kell High School. Ardrey Kell High School Principal Jamie Brooks was suspended with pay on May 2nd, and weeks later announced her retirement.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Before Mecklenburg County Commissioners moved to pass a $2.5 billion budget, protesters for an unrelated topic halted the meeting by releasing an unknown number of crickets. Amid a community member speaking about gun violence concerns in Charlotte, a murmur started in the chambers prompting a halt to the meeting for several minutes because someone had released crickets inside. “She dropped something from the balcony,” said one commissioner during the debacle.

ST. LOUIS (KMOV/Gray News) - A van hit a tow truck helping a vehicle and went airborne on Friday. Illinois State Police issued a citation for improper passing of an emergency vehicle after the bizarre accident Friday afternoon on Highway 158. “Could have been a lot worse,” said Allen Timmerwilke, a driver for Quality Towing. Timmerwilke was dispatched around 4:30 p.m. to pull a truck out of a ditch.
