Rocky View County (RVC) has lifted the fire advisory for both east and west RVC. "Effective immediately, there are no fire advisories or bans in the County, and permit burning is allowed. We will continue to monitor conditions and fire risk throughout the County and may update the status as needed," shared RVC. Although recent precipitation has improved conditions, the county asks the public to stay vigilant and follow all current burning restrictions.

Chinook's Edge students Claire Friesen and Oceana Jones have just returned from the National Science Fair in New Brunswick, held May 31 to June 7, thrilled with their experience. "Jones is a Grade 12 student from École Olds High School (EOHS). Friesen is a Grade 9 student from Cremona School; she received a bronze award for her project. This is the third time Friesen has received that standing at the national event," shared Chinook's Edge School Division.

The Rocky View County (RVC) municipal election is starting to take shape as more county residents are putting their names forward to garner the role of councillor. In RVC, councillors are elected by division, with residents voting within their respective divisions. The County is divided into seven divisions. Each year, the Council elects the Reeve and Deputy Reeve during the Organizational Meeting in October.
