The Faculty Senate Tuesday rejected a proposal from Student Government to extend the concentrated study period before finals, commonly referred to as “dead week,” by two days, for a total of seven. Two men injured in drive-by shooting off LSU's campus

Two men were injured in a drive-by shooting near LSU's campus Wednesday afternoon, and another person was hit by a car, according to Baton Rouge Police Department. Two men were walking to a local store when they were shot on Alaska Street around 1 p.m., said Sgt. Darren Ahmed with BRPD. They suffered non-life-threatening injuries from the shots fired from inside a vehicle, he said.

Patrick F. Taylor Hall began flooding Wednesday afternoon after an HVAC system's coil is suspected to have burst on the fourth floor, according to Executive Director of Facility and Property Oversight Tammy Millican. The water has caused an unknown amount of damage but multiple classrooms, laboratories and offices have been flooded compromising roof tiles, electronics, personal items and equipment as students and faculty alike try to mitigate the destruction.

The LSU Museum of Art is regularly home to a collection of avante-garde artworks, but Sunday it may have hosted its most unconventional exhibit yet. Two African spurred tortoises, an African parrot, an African goose, a Columbian red tailed boa constrictor and some silkie chickens all lined up to greet attendees courtesy of exotic pet handler Pharoah Johnson III and his family, with the mission of educating adults and children alike on his animals by allowing close-up interaction with each one.
