A Newcastle cafe known for its stunning city centre views is set to remain open after two of the region's largest businesses decided to extend their partnership. Fenwick Newcastle and South Tyneside fashion company Barbour joined forces in October last year to launch Barbour Tea and Toasties, a cosy cafe overlooking Grey's Monument that offers tea, sweet treats, and toasted sandwiches bearing the Barbour brand.

A change in leadership has been announced by Newcastle law firm Muckle LLP after long-serving managing partner Jason Wainwright revealed plans to step down. After leading the firm through 10 years of growth, Mr Wainwright will step down from the top job on March 31 2025 but will remain with the firm as part of its growing equity partner group. He will be succeeded by the current head of corporate, Anthony Evans, from April 1 2025.
