    The Action News Jax First Alert Weather Team said Thursday’s First Alert Weather Day has now ended after the tornado watch that was in effect for Northeast Florida and portions of Southeast Georgia has been canceled. A tornado was observed on the ground in St. Johns County near State Road 16 and Interstate 95 around 11:45 a.m. as First Alert Weather Meteorologist Corey Simma was live on Action News Jax tracking. A viewer named Curt sent us video of the tornado in the World Golf Village area.

    JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Action News Jax First Alert Weather Team has declared a First Alert Weather Day due to heavy rain and strong storms in our area. This alert is in effect for our entire coverage area until 3 p.m., but the rain will be hitting different areas at different times. According to First Alert Meteorologist Corey Simma, the heavy rain and storms will be west and north of Jacksonville on Thursday morning. The morning commute looks dry for the metro but damp in spots up in Georgia.

Here’s what the First Alert Weather Team says you can expect:Tuesday has been a beautiful day with partly cloudy skies and temps near 80. Tuesday night will be quiet and mild. We may have an isolated shower move into Southeast Georgia during the overnight hours. Wednesday turns wet. The morning commute looks OK for Interstate 95 but rain/storms move in during the day.
