In the (at time of writing) ongoing military assault on Gaza, Israel has deployed air, ground, and sea forces to fire thousands of tonnes of munitions that have brought widespread destruction to Palestinian land and people. This is the latest and most sustained attack that follows other major bombing campaigns (in 2008–09, 2012, 2014, 2022), as well as more sporadic but regular rounds of targeted killing and bombardment.
