SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — As questions continue surrounding Friday’s placement of Shawnee Township Fire Department Chief Austin Miller on administrative leave, the township has issued a response on the matter. In a statement issued on behalf of the township by Clay Balyeat, the legal advisor for the Shawnee Township Board of Trustees, the board maintained that is it following all the necessary procedures as required by the township and Ohio law.

In Delphos, an ordinance before Delphos City Council would allow for an expedited annexation agreement between the city and Marion Township, allowing the city to incorporate two properties along Lincoln Highway near the U.S. Route 30 exit.

BATH TOWNSHIP — Stewart Road between state 81 and Bluelick Road will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, according to a release from the Allen County Engineer’s Office. The closure to all through traffic will allow for chip seal work on that portion of the road. Emergency vehicles will have access during the closure.

CELINA — One week removed from the Memorial Day holiday, families hoping for some fun in the lake at Grand Lake St. Marys for a summer outing are having to wait a little longer to knock that activity off their checklists.
