The Burton Panthers advanced to the District 2A Regional Semifinals after sweeping the Harper Longhorns last week. After 4 straight wins they will now be facing the Flatonia Bulldogs coming off of their own sweep of  the Freer Buckaroos. BURTON 0WEIMAR 6Friday night, the Burton Lady Panthers Softball Team faced elimination as they took on Weimar in Game 2 of a best 2 out of 3 series. Weimar had already defeated Burton in Game 1 by a final score of 7-3 to take a 1-0 series lead. The Burton defense would start things off on the right foot behind starting pitcher Lexi Broesche, as the defense would turn a 4-6-3 double play, by Paige Fritsch to Aerynn Huntsmann to Bailey Glaesmann, to end the top of the first.

The Brenham Cubs fell to Kingwood Park in Game 1 of their Bi-District playoff series. Brenham got off to a quick start, scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the first. Kingwood Park would cut that lead in half, scoring a run in the 3rd. Brenham would make it a 3-1 game by putting another run on the board in the 5th inning. Kingwood Park tied the game by plating 2 runs in the 6th inning. Things would stay tied and head to extra innings.

Good defense and timely hitting was the key to victory for Nederland.
