A joint venture between AMEA Power (60%) and Sumitomo Corporation (40%) has commissioned the 500MW Amunet project in Egypt – one of Africa’s largest wind farms. The project consists of 77 of Envision’s EN 6.5-171 turbines. Chinese turbine manufacturers have increasingly targeted new markets in recent years, following a turbine price crunch in their home market. UAE-based developer AMEA Power confirmed the Amunet project is now fully operational.
