I was diagnosed with autism at the age of three, and it has undeniably affected the course of my life, including my career choices. My first job after university was a Researcher role at NPC (I’m now a Consultant), and when I look back, it makes sense that I’ve taken that career path. In some ways, I’ve always been a researcher. A lot of autistic people have “special interests”: highly focused interests or hobbies that they see as fundamental to their wellbeing and happiness.
