    City and school officials are exploring whether the long-abandoned former Meriden-Wallingford Hospital on Cook Avenue could become the future home of a new Casmir Pulaski Elementary School, most recently approving a nearly $40,000 study for the project. The building was left empty in 1998 when the hospital rebranded as MidState Medical Center and moved into a new 94-bed facility at 435 Lewis Ave. in Meriden.
